Burgess Beginnings, LLC was founded by a grateful al-anon member and a woman in recovery in 2015 to help those in Delaware struggling with disease of addiction find a safe, sober place to call home.
The founders of Burgess Beginnings knew from their personal experience that Delaware alcoholics and addicts were at a disadvantage due to lack of resources in the state. They felt called to help. That is where the idea was born.
Things fell into place quickly and Burgess Beginnings opened their first house, the Burgess House, in late 2015. The Burgess House provides the structure and attention alcoholics and addicts in early recovery need to successfully transition back into society in a family-like environment.
